Markings are for the purpose of identifying, safeguarding and labelling..
Marking means paying attention to the ground quality and stress, and always selecting the most durable marking. Markings are for identifying and safeguarding company and public traffic routes, for labelling hazardous areas or obstacles, as well as being instructions. A distinction is made between signal paints, reflecting markings and markings with long luminescence.
The selection of the right Marking Paint is important. Different surfaces and stresses require appropriate products. On this page, you will receive professional tips, with which you can assess which marking paint you should use for which area of application.
General tips on the subject of marking
For the marking of industrial and warehouse buildings in the production area, the following rules and regulations must be observed
The specifications for floor marking in industry and warhouse halls are the Accident Prevention Regulations in accordance with BGV A8. § 13 Marking of roadways. The marking of roadway limitations must take place on the ground in colour, clearly identifiably, permanently and consistently. The Workplace Ordinance Arbstätt V § 3 (1) Technical Rules for Workplace Safety and Health Protection Markings ASR A1.3. regulates the marking of roadway limitations. These are to be executed in colour, clearly identifiably and consistently. If the marking is applied to the ground, this can be achieved e.g. with stripes with a minimum of 5 cm width in an easily visible colour - preferably white or yellow - depending on the colour of the ground surface.

A greater clarity will provide more security: With our Marking Paint you will clearly indicate the road ahead! Depending on the area of application, various qualities can be selected. Our practical accessories for the processing completes the product range.
For a mild to average stressing in the indoor and outdoor areas, the water-based Aqualine Marking Paint is the best choice. Application areas include playgrounds, signposts, parking spaces etc. Aqualine Marking Paint is low on pollutants and odor development, and also dries quickly. If required, it can also be used across a large area.
For an average stress, we recommend using the Kronalux® Marking Paint. Also suitable for indoor and outdoor use, it has a lacquer-type surface and is mainly used for industrial markings and parking markings.
Especially practical is the Kronalux® Marking Spray. It is suitable for markings on concrete, asphalt and paving indoors and outdoors which is to be performed quickly and simply. Parking lot markings, keep-out areas and border lines can be efficiently created with this product. The stroke width can be adjusted according to the requirement from 50 mm to 120 mm. The processing is conducted with a Hand Marker or Marking Applicator/Trolley.

Particularly in tight spaces, such as is frequently the case in multistorey car parks and underground garages, a well thought-out and easily visible marking is particularly important. Parking space numbers are a must in permanently rented multistorey car parks. However, also the marking of disabled parking spaces or facilities of mother and child parking spaces, must be considered in underground garages and multistorey car parks.
With markings in interior spaces, the cleaning effect of weather is lacking. Therefore, only use materials that become less dirty under these conditions or are easy to clean. Here, a paint-like surface is advantageous. Do not use any Road Marking Paints in the roofed section, these have a surface that is too rough and become dirty too quickly.
Kronalux® 2K-PU Industry Marking Paint was specially developed for industrial marking which is subjected to the highest stress levels. Especially in industrial operations the ability to handle the highest loads as well as long durability are critical factors. The substrates can subsequently be loaded again very soon through its extremely fast drying time within 24 hours. The two-component Kronalux® 2K-PU Marking Spray can be used both indoors as well as outdoors. The dirt-resistant surface is resistant to softening agents and therefore ideally suited for garages and car parks. Even with a heavy stress induction through forklift truck traffic, no burning of the dry coat will occur when under stress. Full-surface coatings are possible if required.

Hall markings are often prescribed by legal regulations of the accident insurance associations. Emergency exits, work areas, driving routes for forklift trucks, restricted areas in front of doors, gates and machines are marked. These markings are mainly carried out in yellow, as the colour yellow stands for safety marking.
As a surface, epoxy resin coatings, screed and asphalt or paving are suitable. For the regulated work process, markings of work areas, such as storage spaces for empties, goods warehouses, machinery, equipment etc. are essential. With markings in halls, the cleaning effect of weather is lacking. Therefore, only use materials that become less dirty under these conditions or are easy to clean. Here, a paint-like surface is advantageous.
Choose a plastic marking paint, for example, the Kronalux® Marking Paint 752. Do not use any Road Marking Paints in halls, these have a surface that is too rough and become dirty too quickly. If extreme stresses are applied, use our 2K products e.g. Kronalux® 2K-PU Industry Marking Paint 757 or Kronalux® 2K-PU Industry Marking Spray 761. With this 2K high-performance Marking Paint, you can also mark steel, aluminium and galvanised surfaces.
For the road marking on heavily used roads such as motorways and highways, Kronalux® Road Marking Paint HS is the product of choice. By the way, HS stands for high solid which refers to the very high resistance to wear of the marking. Typical usage cases include lane indication and guidelines, direction arrows, zebra stripes, as well as parking and curb markings. Kronalux® Road Marking Paint HS is approved by the Federal Office of Road Safety (BASt). For application areas with the highest demands regarding night visibility, for example, take-off and runway markings at airports Kronalux® Aggregate transparent is used to significantly enhance the reflective effect of the marked surface. Additionally, it significantly increases the resistance to abrasion, as well as road safety. By the way, Kronalux® Aggregate is suitable for use with all JAEGER Marking Paints.
Marking of roads and paths
Particularly in cities, the number of bicycles is increasing continuously and many cities are already boasting about the lengths of their cycle paths. Many of these cycle paths are separated off from the pedestrian paths or run along a narrow strip along the roads. Marking that is easily visible offers protection for the cyclist. Choose a plastic marking paint, such as Kronalux® Marking Paint 752, or use Kronalux® Road Marking Paint 750 HS.
Marking of motorways, highways and federal roads
Highly stressed roads require a marking with a high wear resistance. The very quick drying in order to ensure approval for traffic is also a very important aspect. Also ensure that you only use products with BASt approval [German Federal Highway Research Institute]. Particularly on highways with poor lighting, it depends on good visibility of the marking. The Kronalux® Road Marking Paint 750 HS in conjunction with the Kronalux® Aggregate 759, ensures a long-lasting marking with a high retro reflection.
Marking parking lots
A parking lot positively completes the overall perception of your company. Pay attention to this yourself with your own customers. Perhaps it will generate an additional order.
Even if a marking is already long in the tooth - be remarking the existing parking lot, it will receive a new "splendour".
Parking lot markings must be executed accurately and be easily visible, while the wear plays a subordinated role. Both marking sprays can be rationally and quickly processed with the Jaeger Manual Marking Trolley. The line width can be adjusted sleeplessly from 50 - 120 mm. The uncomplicated handling promises simple processing with a perfect result.
Marking of airfields
When it comes to markings on airfields, only "marking" is referred to. The markings of runways for takeoffs and landings are basically white. The markings for the edges are most important for this (Runway Side Stripe Marking), the middle line (Center Line) the start and end of the landing strip (Threshold) which must also be recognisable for pilots from the air. In contrast, the markings of the taxiways and rolling lanes are yellow.
Marking paints that are used for this must stand up to the highest requirements for wear abrasion and resistance to wear. Only High Solid products may be considered for this extreme application.
The marking colours range also includes our practical helpers for the processing. With the Jaeger Marking Stencils, all important traffic and warning signs, markings for no-parking zones and handicap spaces can be perfectly applied. Letters and numbers for individual markings are also available. The reusable stencils are made of stable 1 mm thick plastic.
If you frequently apply markings, our Hand Marker for the marking spray is a sensible and professional alternative to the spray gun. This will provide you with a spraying aid for the easy application of all Jaeger marking sprays. The simple but effective handling allows for an exact positioning and guidance.
