Solvent-free floor primer resin for mineral substrates

  • Fast curing
  • Solvent-free, odourless
  • Easy to apply
  • Crack-bridging
  • Strengthening

The solvent-free floor primer resin is a high-quality solution for mineral substrates. It creates a stable and secure substrate for subsequent top coatings. It is ideal for concrete and screeds. Thanks to its fast-curing and crack-bridging properties, as well as its easy application, this product is ideal for professional applications in the field of floor coatings.

Please note: Not suitable for living spaces.

Preparation of the substrate

Mineral substrates must be well set before painting work begins; new concrete must be at least 4–6 weeks old. The substrate must be dry, clean, grease-free and dust-free; loose and sanding layers must be removed. Any cement paste or sinter layers on the surface must be removed by sandblasting, milling or grinding. Oily concrete surfaces that have already been used are best cleaned by brushing with Jaeger 080 Special Cleaner or alkaline cleaning agents. It is to be washed with plenty of water or with a steam cleaner. Then allow surfaces to dry well. Adhesion is affected by moisture on the back.

Old coatings: Check for load-bearing capacity and sand down. (Pre-test)

Processing

Add the hardener completely to the base paint and mix very carefully. If it is necessary to process the material out of the container, the material must be transferred to a new, clean container before processing. The hardening reaction begins at this point. Process material quickly.

Pot life: approx. 20 min. at 20°C (shorter pot life at higher temperatures)

ATTENTION: The material heats up as a result of the reaction between the two components. It is essential to use within the pot life. The material can become very hot when it hardens in the container. Pouring mixed material onto the floor can extend the pot life.

Processing conditions: During the entire processing and drying time, the material, substrate and air temperature must not fall below 8°C or exceed 30°C. The humidity should be between 30% and 75% relative humidity during the entire time.

Coating structure

Special primer resin, application quantity depending on the evenness of the substrate. Absorbent floors should be saturated; unevenness can be levelled out by applying higher quantities. In thin layers, a non-slip finish can be achieved by sprinkling quartz sand. From an application quantity of 5 mm, quartz sand should be added for reinforcement.

Recoatability: With all floor coating systems except mineral coatings. Recoat within 48 hours, otherwise the primer must be sanded.
