Aqua roof and gutter paint was specially developed for the renovation of roofs and weathered roof surfaces, e.g. on garages, carports, garden and tool sheds, small animal stables. Aqua Roof Paint and Gutter Paint adheres well to the permanently elastic sealant Jungkeit Waterproof and to many common surfaces such as bitumen roofing, brass, steel, copper, weathered hot-dip galvanisation, weathered spray galvanisation, hard PVC, concrete and fibre cement. This makes Aqua Roof and Gutter Paint suitable for changing surfaces in the roof area.
For technical reasons, the colours on the monitor/display are not binding. Please refer to the colour chart for binding colours.
Instructions for using Aqua Roof Paint and Gutter Paint
To achieve a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing renovation in the roof area, it is important to use Aqua Roof Paint and Gutter Paint correctly.
Surface preparation
Cleaning: The surface must be clean, dry and stable. Thoroughly remove grease, oil, moss or other impurities.
Waterproofing: Leaks can be sealed with Jungkeit Waterproof in order to create a solid base for the roof paint.
Pre-treatment:
- Absorbent surfaces (e.g. concrete and fibre cement) should be treated with Aqua Roof Primer 619 to reduce absorbency.
- Aluminium or lead tape should be treated with a suitable universal primersuch as Multigrund 715 or coated with the sealing compound Jungkeit Waterproof.
- Galvanised substrates require an ammonia wetting agent wash according to BFS Data Sheet No. 5.
- Hard PVC should also be sanded with abrasive fleece to improve adhesion.
Coating
During the entire processing and drying time, the temperature of the material, substrate and air should be between 10 °C and 30 °C. The humidity should be between 30 % r.h. and 80 % r.h. during the entire time. Direct sunlight should be avoided if possible to ensure even drying.
Apply 1 to 2 coats of JAEGER Aqua Roof and Gutter Paint over the entire surface using a roller or brush.
At 20 °C and 55 % relative humidity, the paint is dust-dry after approx. 1 hour and can be recoated after 16 hours. To ensure an optimal result, the product should be protected from moisture during the first few hours.
Recommendations for spray applications
For an efficient and even application of Aqua roof and gutter paint in the roof area, modern spray systems such as the WAGNER XVLP and HEA airless technology offer optimal solutions. These systems are ideal for evenly applying the paint to roof surfaces while saving time and effort.
- WAGNER XVLP technology: Use the Standard Spray tip with maximum air volume and 10% material volume. Dilute the roof sealant by 5-10%.
- WAGNER HEA Airless technology: Use the HEA ProTip Nozzle with a size of 517 and a spray pressure of 180 bar. Dilute the material by 10 %.
