Instructions for use of the ceramic, enamel and acrylic repair set
Careful cleaning and surface preparation is crucial for subsequent durability. Read the entire technical data sheet thoroughly before starting work. The repair set is suitable for all enamelled surfaces, such as washbasins, shower trays and bathtubs.
Surface preparation
- Cleaning: The damaged surface must be clean, dry and grease-free. Rust spots and loose parts must be removed. Limescale deposits should be removed with a suitable cleaner, followed by cleaning the damaged area with an abrasive cleaner. Then the tub should be rinsed with water. Before coating, the damaged area should be thoroughly cleaned with liquid abrasive and degreased with white spirits.
- Processing conditions: The processing temperature must be at least +20 °C.
Repair work
- Mixing filler and hardener: The required amount of filler is mixed well with a little hardener, observing the mixing ratio of 30 parts filler to 1 part hardener.
- Fill the damaged area: the filler is applied to the damaged area and should be left to dry for 30 minutes. In the case of porcelain, broken shards can be reattached using the filler.
- Sanding down: the hardened filler is sanded down with the sandpaper provided until there are no more protrusions or holes. The sanding dust must then be removed.
- Painting: shake the spray can vigorously for 3 minutes before use. The paint is sprayed onto the damaged area in thin layers from a distance of 15-20 cm. A paper template can be used to facilitate even application (hole size corresponds to the size of the damaged area). The template is held 1-2 cm above the damaged area and, when the spraying begins, the spray can is drawn over the opening. After one minute, the next layer is applied and this process is repeated until the damaged area is completely covered. Varnish that has been applied too thickly can be removed with acetone.
Curing
The treated surface should not come into contact with water for 4 days so that it can cure completely. The repaired area is heat-resistant up to a temperature of 60°C.
